Welded Wire Reinforcement
|Structural welded wire reinforcement (WWR) is used as a primary reinforcement in many applications such as bridge desks, high-rise buildings (in slabs and in shear reinforcement for columns and beams), precast concrete products like box culverts, double-Ts, architectural wall panel and tunnel linings. |
The pre-manufactured WWR grid is a product of choice because it reduces installation labor costs at a precast plant or job site by at least 50% as well as shortening project completion time.
Concrete components using WWR achieve better quality crack control due to closely and uniformly spaced reinforcing as well as precise positioning in concrete forms.
Higher strength WWR is fabricated to a minimum 485MPa yield strength which allows for a significant reduction in the quantity of reinforcement required.
